From The Bottom To The Top – The Story So Far, Part 3.5 ( a footnote to Part 3)

(This blog post began life as part of the Tower Theatre Company newsletter and was first published in early March 2015)

Harold Wilson once said, “A week is a long time in politics”. I’ve got news for him – it isn’t half as long as awaiting the result of an audition for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Checking your emails every ten minutes for eight days really can’t be good for you! But now patience has been rewarded “for the short and the long is, our play is preferred!

Yes we are into the next round, shortlisted as one of four teams from the London area to have a chance to play the Mechanicals in 2016 at the Barbican and at Stratford-upon-Avon. When I’ve calmed down a bit I’ll probably be able to reflect a little more soberly (literally) on not only the enormity of the task ahead of us but also the excitement of having such a wonderful and unique opportunity. For now I think I’d better just have a lie down until reality kicks in – now where’s the nearest fairy bower?
